Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf of bread, cut into cubes

  • 1/2 tsp salt (for bread)

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (for bread)

  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (for bread)

  • 2 sticks of butter

  • 3 stalks of celery, diced

  • 1 sweet onion, diced

  • 5 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh rosemary

  • 1 tbsp of chopped fresh sage

  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp pepper

  • 2 cups of broth (can use turkey or chicken)

For those of you who like to add a twist to your traditional Thanksgiving stuffing recipe, here's a delicious idea. How about adding some crumbled sausage? You can choose between hot or sweet, depending on your taste preference. Trust me, the sausage adds an incredible depth of flavor to the stuffing, making it even more irresistible! You simply brown the sausage in a pan, crumble it into bits, and incorporate it into your stuffing mixture. The result? A mouth-watering stuffing that will be the talk of your Thanksgiving dinner. So go ahead, and give it a try this year!

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (190°C).

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread cubes, 1/2 tsp of salt, 1/2 tsp of garlic powder, and 1 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil. Toss until the bread is evenly coated.

  3. Spread the bread cubes onto a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  4. In a large skillet, melt 2 sticks of butter over medium heat.

  5. Add in the diced celery, onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 10-15 minutes.

  6. If you're using sausage for extra flavor, now is the time to add it into the skillet with the vegetables and cook until browned.

  7. Add in the fresh herbs (parsley, rosemary, sage, and thyme), 1/2 tsp of garlic powder, 1/2 tsp of salt, and 1/2 tsp of pepper. Mix until everything is evenly distributed.

  8. Add the chicken broth and bring mixture to a boil.

  9. Remove from heat and add the bread cubes to the pot and mix until fully incorporated.

  10. Serve hot and enjoy with your Thanksgiving turkey or any other meal you desire!

If there are any leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat in the oven for a snack later. Enjoy :)
