If you're a fan of chocolate chip cookies (who isn't?), then get ready to make these delicious cookies. With just a few simple ingredients, you can whip up a batch of the best brown butter chocolate chip cookies you've ever had.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup browned butter (don't worry, we'll explain how to make this later!)
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups milk chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the brown sugar and browned butter until well combined.
Add in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until everything is fully incorporated.
Gradually add in the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
Fold in the milk chocolate chips with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon.
Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The cookies may still look slightly underdone in the middle but they will continue to bake on the hot pan.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Enjoy your delicious, buttery chocolate chip cookies with a glass of cold milk or a cup of hot coffee. These definitely don't last long!
How to Make Browned Butter
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Once melted, continue to cook the butter, stirring occasionally, until it turns a light brown color and has a nutty aroma.
Remove from heat and immediately transfer to a heat-safe bowl or measuring cup to prevent it from burning.
Allow the browned butter to cool before using in your cookie dough recipe.
Tips to Elevate Your Cookies
Use room temperature eggs for better incorporation into the cookie dough.
Don't over-mix the dough to prevent tough cookies. Mix until just combined.
For extra chewy cookies, refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking.
Use high-quality ingredients, especially chocolate chips, for a truly delicious cookie experience.
Add chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans for some extra crunch.
Use different types of chocolate chips such as dark, white, or butterscotch.
Mix in other goodies like marshmallows, dried cranberries, shredded coconut, or even crushed pretzels for a unique twist on the classic cookie.
