Challah French Toast

If you're in the mood for a mouthwatering and one-of-a-kind take on classic French toast, then you've come to the right place! This challah french toast recipe is absolutely amazing and will totally blow you away. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create the perfect breakfast or brunch dish that will have everyone asking for seconds.

  • 1 loaf of challah bread

  • 8 eggs

  • 2 tsp of cinnamon (may need to add more as you go on)

  • sprinkle of nutmeg

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract

  • 2 tsp Amaro Lucano (secret ingredient!)

  1. Start by slicing your challah bread into thick slices, about 1 inch in thickness.

  2. In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, milk, vanilla extract and Amaro Lucano.

  3. Dip each slice of challah bread into the egg mixture, making sure to coat both sides evenly.

  4. Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.

  5. Place the coated challah slices onto the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

  6. Serve hot with your favorite toppings such as fresh fruit, compotes, whipped cream, or maple syrup.

  • You can also use brioche bread instead of challah.

  • Make sure to use a high-quality vanilla extract for the best flavor.

  • If you don't have Amaro Lucano, you can substitute it with any other liqueur such as amaretto or even bourbon.

  • Don't overcrowd the skillet, cook in batches if needed.
