My 50th recipe post! A blend of many delicious flavors and textures. Spicy Gyoza Soup is a Japanese style soup with cute little gyozas in it. This one features the pork gyoza I make and keep in my freezer (recipe soon). Shoutout to my sister in law for giving me the idea to put them in broth (she's a great cook too). Its base is a flavorful spicy broth with chili crunch oil, mushrooms, ginger, garlic and soy sauce. You can omit the spiciness by just using plain olive oil, but the decision is up to you! See the recipe below :)

Ingredients:
4-5 servings
12-15 gyoza (depends how many each person wants, about 4-5 per person or 10 if you're a strong person with a large appetite)
3 chopped green onions
3 minced garlic cloves
1 tbsp minced fresh ginger
8 oz of mushrooms
1 tbsp chili crunch oil (can use less and substitute with olive oil or just use olive oil if you don't like spicy)
1 tsp sesame seed oil
2 tbsp soy sauce
4 cups broth (use my chicken bone broth if ya want)
4 cups water
optional see tips: lemon if your soup is too spicy
Instructions:
Heat your oils in a 6 quart stockpot.
Add the green onions and cook for 2 minutes.
Add the garlic and ginger and cook about 5 minutes.
Next, add in the mushrooms. Mix everything together and cook about 5 minutes.
Then, add in the broth and water. Give it a good mix and then bring it to a boil on high. Once boiling, taste the broth. See if it needs any other seasoning. If you use low-sodium soy sauce, salt may be needed. You can also add black pepper and garlic powder as well. If soup is too spicy see notes below.
Once boiling, lower the heat on medium-high and add in your gyoza. Cook for 5 minutes or until the gyoza begin to float.
Pour it into a bowl (don't forget your gyoza) and enjoy :)
Tips
If the soup is too spicy, add some lemon. Start with half of a lemon and taste to make sure.
If you don't like spicy, simply substitiute the chili crunch oil for regular plain oil.
The gyoza doesn't have to be pork! You can use whatever you like.
If you like dumplings more, use those instead!
Any of the ingredients can be omitted if you don't like them. Just make sure to taste the broth and see what seasonings to add in.
Use my chicken bone broth with this!
